KidZania Singapore

27/04/2016

Have you ever heard of BabyBoss in Taipei? There was a time when Singaporean families would specially set aside a day in their itineraries when visiting Taipei so that their kids can experience a 2,300 square-foot simulated city where 50 professions and over 70 different occupations were waiting for kids to explore.

The setting allows games and role-playing scenarios to stimulate children’s learning capability. Even the concept of money and how to value it are thoroughly taught within the city.

Well now Singapore has its very own Kidzania! It’s an interactive indoor theme park combining inspiration, fun and learning through realistic role-play for children aged 4 to 17. At KidZania Singapore, kids can independently explore an 81,000 square feet kid-sized city, complete with buildings, paved streets, vehicles and a functioning economy, just like in a real world.

Through realistic role-play, they learn about different careers, the inner-workings of a city and the concept of managing money. KidZania is designed to educate through experience, fostering the development of life skills, giving kids the confidence and inspiration to be great global citizens. Kidzania is not just present in Singapore though. It has become a global phenomenon with numerous locations throughout the world. Each KidZania location offers experiences that are relevant to a particular region, culture and geography by way of food, entertainment and professions. Each activity is carefully crafted in close collaboration with real-world brands to ensure the realism and authenticity that is synonymous with the brand.

What Kids Can Do There

OK so what’s the lowdown on Kidzania? What activities can the kids actually get involved in once they’re there? There are 46 stations that allow kids to play different roles throughout Kidzania. Start with what interests them the most!

Accessible to All

If you are a parents of a child with special needs, Kidzania has you covered. KidZania Singapore has been designed to be wheelchair-friendly, with wide passageways, service lifts and clear directional boards for easy access throughout the city. During role-playing, read-a-long placards are used so that kids with hearing impairments can join in the fun. Kidzania even allows seeing-eye dogs to accompany your visually-impaired child (only on the streets, not in the role-play areas).
